Barack Obama’s Democtratic Nominee Acceptance Speech
On the evening of Thursday August 28th at shortly after 10pm, Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama gave his acceptance speech. On this evening American history was solidified, with the first ever African American given the support of a major political party for the presidency. Below is the full speech he gave last night, which fell on the same day of Martin Luther King, Jr’s famous “I Have a Dream speech that took place 45 years earlier, when Barack Obama was just 2 years old. In classic Obama style throughout his campaign, he mentions the need to include gays and lesbians in vision for America, and this speech was no different. This statement is somewhere around the last 10 minutes of his speech.
