The Womyn’s Village is a new grass roots organization forming for women of color in the life. There statement of purpose is:

“The Womyn’s Village is a same gender loving think tank and Philadelphia’s first lesbian, bisexual and transgender constituency. Our primary focus is to create authentic programming that encourages spiritual, economic and social connectedness and solidarity for black African heritage, Latina and Asian communities. We are a human race movement and welcome the ENTIRE rainbow’s need for emotional support around isolation, focusing on same gender love health issues and workshops, safe housing and shelter, HIV/AIDS, domestic violence, financial empowerment, civil union marriages, environmental justice, community service agency “go to” places, social events and venues for womyn, tourism/travel, fundraising, coalition building and sponsorship with other lesbian, bisexual and transgender organizations…and whatever else womyn want.”
