Black LGBT Archivists Sociey of Philadelphia Is Looking For Items
The Black LGBT Archivists Society of Philadelphia is looking for items from local Black Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender persons to add to their ever growing collection of items that capture the lives of and history of Black LGBT Philadelphia. The mission of the organization is “To Create, preserve and exhibit a rich and unedited history of Black lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities in Philadelphia- past and present.”
Kevin Trimell Jones, the founder and curator of this organization is looking to expand the items contained in the archives to include:
- Love letters
- Coming out letters
- Letters from a parent
- Letters to a child
- “You mean this much to me” letters
- Break-up letters, etc
